American Immigration
Lawyers Association
New York Chapter

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is the national association of more than 15,000 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law.

AILA member attorneys represent U.S. families seeking permanent residence for close family members, as well as U.S. businesses seeking talent from the global marketplace. AILA members also represent foreign students, entertainers, athletes, and asylum seekers, often on a pro bono basis. Founded in 1946, AILA is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization that provides continuing legal education, information, professional services, and expertise through its 39 chapters and over 50 national committees.

The New York Chapter of AILA (AILA-NY) represents more than 1,600 immigration lawyers who practice in and around New York City. AILA-NY is entirely volunteer run, led by an elected executive committee and dependent on our members’ volunteer efforts to liaise with local government offices, provide ongoing education and assistance to chapter members, and ensure the highest possible quality representation for New York’s immigrant communities.

Further information about becoming an AILA member can be obtained by contacting the AILA National Office at www.aila.org or by calling 202-216-2400.
